Spring Elections- Big Three and Senate

The mission of the Student Government Association is to serve the student body of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette by representing students through a steadfast commitment to providing an environment conducive for the pursuit of student engagement; by ensuring opportunities for leadership development; and by engaging in student-driven initiatives in collaboration with university, city, and state officials in order to enrich the quality of student life and develop a unified Ragin’ Cajun community.

As a senator, you would represent your academic college and advocate for issues as well work with the other SGA senators and president elected to do a college project. Each college gets $2,200 each semester towards a project to better the academic college overall. Also as a senator, you would be on a committee within SGA such as academics, athletics, student life, finance, etc. In these committees, you would address concerns or issues, meet with faculty, and report back to the entirety of SGA on what's going on in that area of campus. Time commitment would be Mondays from 5pm-6pm and then whenever your committee wants to meet. You can be more involved by serving in special committees or planning within the university! SGA meetings are open to all and every student Mondays at 5pm in the Helma Forum in the union, so if you are interested in running I advise stopping by a meeting to see what's discussed.
