Thank you for applying for the Student Government Association Scholarship. The deadline for applications is April 30th at 4:30 pm.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Be a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree and enrolled as a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade point average. If the student is graduating and is in his/her last semester, then that student can be part-time
- Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student with at least a 3.0 grade point average and not be a part of a fellowship or assistantship program.
The selection committee will make selections based on the following:
- Extra-curricular activities – 70%
- Grade point average – 30%
The selection committee will meet to review all information from applicants. The scholarship recipients will receive an Award Letter from the UL Lafayette Scholarship Office before the start of the fall semester.
This scholarship is $500, and it is split into two portions: $250 is awarded at the beginning of the Fall semester and $250 is awarded at the beginning of the Spring semester. In the event that the undergraduate scholarship recipient’s grade point average falls below a 2.5 cumulative on a 4.0 scale, if he/she does not finish the semester successfully as a full-time student, OR if the recipient graduates, the spring portion of the scholarship may be forfeited. For the graduate student, a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale must be maintained and he/she should finish the semester successfully as a full-time student.
